Frost Moon Goals — 2021 🌙

Today, the New Moon above us carries the energy of the Frost Moon that we’re journeying toward in this part of the world. It’s reminding me of the rune called Isa.

Isa is the rune of ice—a single, upright line. It can symbolize the stillness and frozen nature of ice, but thinking of it in terms of the waxing Frost Moon, it represents something more to me at this moment in my journey.

Ice can also be about clarity. It’s about knowing a form and sticking with it. At its core, ice remains water, which is one of the most malleable matters in the universe. But in this form, it’s decisive. It has chosen a shape, and is staying there.

I’ve been on a journey for a long time now, trying to find some sort of clarity about my writer identity. That doesn’t necessarily mean only writing one series or even one genre. It’s about figuring out what my own core is made of.

When I found the words that resonated, it set me on a path of reaching new heights of creativity and authenticity. They became the new symbol for who I am as a writer and more.

This New Moon is the time when I’m going to take everything I’ve learned and let it become as clear and as fixed as ice. As the Frost Moon waxes, I’ll be thinking about that core identity that I’ve been not just uncovering, but building.

Love, Light, & Laughter.

It’s truly at the core of who I am, even beyond my writer-self. No matter what changes occur in my writing or my life, I’m going to hold on to these three words to guide me on my journey.

I don’t think I would have found my way to this realization without the support of a group of writing women who have truly altered my life, as well as the guidance of our incredible coach, whose insights have been utterly invaluable for me. I’m talking about you, Narelle Todd!

During this lunar phase, I’m also going to be thinking about all of the abundance that working with her has brought into my life and the things and people that I wish to make a permanent part of my life. The friendships I’ve crafted over the past year are just as dear to me as the writing accomplishments, and I can’t wait to see where we all go next.

You can read more about my journey with Narelle on my Writers’ Resources page (just scroll past the books).

Wherever you are on your own path, I hope you’ll use this New Frost Moon energy to think about the things you want to keep in your life and how they help you be your most authentic self.
