He never expected to find his soulmate.

Bound by a sacred oath, Lar has selflessly dedicated his life to place the needs of his crown prince above all others, including his own. Taking the oath was easy in his youth—with the population imbalance facing his people, there was no hope of Lar finding a soulmate. He never expected to be tempted to break his oath. But then he journeyed to Earth.

Sophie Myers doesn’t have time to heal from the trauma of alien abduction. Nor can she allow herself to be distracted by Lar, one of the giant blue warriors who rescued her.  She has no time for romance now that a shapeshifting alien mercenary threatens her family.  But when she discovers she wasn’t the only one taken, her only hope is to place her trust in Lar.

Their search for answers only turns up more questions—and uncovers a threat bigger than either could ever imagine. Will the temptation of their growing bond lead them to a new life together, or will it ultimately send them to their death?

He piloted them under the geological formation that hid the opening to the Tau Ceti base, then down into the dark pit. Sophie shifted closer to him. She fisted some of the fabric of the pale blue Earth style T-shirt he wore.

When the prism had arrived to rescue her, dozens of ships filled the main cavern. He was certain most of the Tau Ceti stationed at the base had escaped. Sophie had insisted on warning Tobek, the Tau Ceti soldier she had formed an alliance with during her short imprisonment.

Even so, there were several piles of twisted, blackened metal fused to the walls of the cavern. The entrance to the main base had been incinerated, along with most of the outer wall. He could see down the wide corridors that led deeper into the base. Queen Ehmach had most likely sent shards down each one, destroying everything and everyone they encountered.

Sophie let out a sound of anguish—a half-moan, half-sob. Her despair was sharper than the pains in his hearts, more immediate and laced with fear. Whatever she had been hoping to find when they arrived, this was not it.
