The Blades of Janus is without a doubt my weirdest series. It’s also my favorite.
With how much I love fairies and how much I love scifi, I started wondering what would happen if I combined them. Thus, The Blades of Janus was born—a world where the fairytale creatures of legend are actually the result of alien life forms merging with various animals (and humans) from Earth. It’s what I call Urban Fantasy Horrormance (Horrormance is a new genre I’m starting).
In the Blades’ world, an alien spaceship crashed on Earth thousands of years ago, and the life forms on board escaped into our environment. They can’t survive Earth’s ecosystems without finding hosts, and the creatures resulting from this hybridization are at the root of human fairytales.
Every book holds surprises for me, as I let my subconscious explore this unique take on werewolves and redcaps and hydra and more. And the characters are so real to me, I feel as though they’re friends (or sometimes frenemies 😉 ). I can’t wait to see what’s in store for everyone in this series!
The monsters of legend are not what we think—their origins much more distant. Dwellers are among us. A flitting shadow seen from the corner of your eye. An animal that’s not quite natural. Even a normal-seeming human you pass on the street. But for these alien organisms to make Earth their home, they need a host.
