Hello, everyone! Today is super-exciting for me. Not only is it Eat-Tons-of-Chocolate Day er… I mean Valentine’s Day, but it’s the release day for “Second Skin“! 😀
Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is my new favorite cover that I’ve made. Or maybe “Second Sight” is. Argh, I love them all!
And I love this story. It’s a perfect Valentine’s Day release for me—romantic and creepy 😀
In the first short story of the series, “Second Sight“, we meet Andi. She’s using her precognitive powers to try to stop her “evil ex”, Jason, from destroying the world. What she doesn’t know is why he eventually tries to destroy it.
“Second Skin” is written from Jason’s point of view and is set before “Second Sight”, when Andi and Jason met and fell in love. I was staggered by some of the things I learned about him while writing it (including more about why the planet/humanity suffers along with him through the series).
I didn’t know exactly how his powers worked when I wrote “Second Sight.” They’re so much worse than I thought, and make him a much more sympathetic character (he’s still the main villain, though—his powers don’t give him a pass for his choices, which I’m sure someone will point out along the way in the series 😉 ).
