With February drawing to a close, I’m looking toward the future for my writing and excited about so many possibilities. The most exciting one? I’m going Indie with The Department of Homeworld Security series!
I love these novellas. They are such fun to write, and from what I hear from readers they’re exactly the super-quick, lighthearted, sexy reads I was hoping to create (if you want a longer, dark scifi read, might I introduce you to The Blades of Janus? 😉 ).
I also love these covers. So much so that I bought them from Samhain! When I relaunch the series this Spring, these two novellas will be very much the same (no need to buy new copies if you already have them 🙂 ).
I’ll also be re-releasing the third Homeworld novella, Business or Pleasure. That one *might* have a new cover. We’ll see. I do love the original. When Business or Pleasure is available again, it will also be the same, so no need to buy it again.
Here’s where it gets really exciting. I’m sitting on a brand new Homeworld novella! The fourth one is as sexy and whimsical as the first three, and it has little green men (and women) 😀 I love this story and can’t wait to share it with you.
And here’s where it gets *even more* exciting. Are you sitting down? I already have plans for the fifth and sixth novellas! The fifth one is already almost completely outlined. I’m hoping to have both done and available this year!
The Homeworld novellas have an over-arching storyline with tons going on in the background. A lot of that background information would really take away from the lighthearted nature of the series, so I’m keeping it as backstory.
I will still be working on the longer, meatier (literally, in some cases 😉 ) series of The Blades of Janus, and will have the second novel out in that series this year as well, just not as soon as I had originally planned.
So, here’s the one catch. You may notice something missing from all of this. “But what about The Summer Park Psychics,” you ask? I’m not forgetting that series. I love it just as much as my scifi series, if in a different way. It’s a different genre (paranormal romantic suspense), after all.
I’m looking for a home for Summer Park with a new traditional publishing house. I will certainly keep you posted there 🙂 The fourth book in that series has been taking shape in my mind for a while now, and I have story ideas for future books as well. Before I move forward with it, I need to find a new home for the three books that I’ve already written.
This means that after the end of February, The Summer Park Psychics books won’t be available for a while! If you want to read them, you might want to go ahead and pick them up now 🙂
That’s about it for now. I hope you’re all thriving and wish you happy reading 🙂
