Wolf Moon Progress — 2021

January’s full Wolf Moon is upon us, and progress on the Cygnian 7 series has been really good. Cygnian 7 is a spin-off set in the universe of The Department of Homeworld Security. I’m having so much fun with this series already!

The tone is definitely different, and it’s taken some getting used to. I really think you’ll enjoy it. There’s still lots of humor, but with more space in the books (literally, in most cases 😆 ), there’s room to explore a lot more range of experiences. I was talking through parts of it with my writing bestie, Eliza Sinclair, and her eyes kept getting wider as I went on. I think that’s a good sign…

I’ve finished the outline for Nuar, and just hit the 20k mark. I’m honestly not entirely sure how long this book is going to be, but I’m thinking around 35-40k, so I might not make it by the end of the month. Still, I’m learning so much about the world as I go—and I’ve nailed down the cover design, which is huge (and they are AWESOME so far).

I can’t wait to share these with you!

And guess what? Nuar is going to be a newsletter freebie! That’s right, my newsletter subscribers will get Cygnian 7 book zero for free! They’ll probably get it before the book is up on distributors, too, though I haven’t figured out the launch date yet. If that wasn’t enough of a reason to join my mailing list, I don’t know what is!

The Department of Homeworld Security books are meant to be light-hearted, quick reads that you can finish in a single sitting, and head back to your life refreshed and amused. The Cygnian 7 are… a bit more hardcore. I’m really excited to see how things turn out, and I’m so glad you’re coming along on the adventure with me!

Take care, and enjoy the Wolf Moon energy!
