Happy Birthday, Vaughn!

Even though he’s fictional, Vaughn has always felt so real to me. I’ve had people joke before that he’s my grown-up imaginary friend. They aren’t too far off the mark.

 

Vaughn is the heart and soul of the Blades of Janus, both in terms of writing the series from the reality side and on the fictional side of the world and lives of the characters within. I absolutely adore him.

Time Can Slip By

Time has been slipping away from me much more than it should. There are so many temptations and distractions, and I’ve become out of practice in avoiding them and in planning for what I want to get done.

I keep hearing my favorite quote from Thoreau ringing in my mind like a bell that’s spurring me to action:

Good Fences Make You Not Meet Your Good Neighbors

A few months back, our neighbor’s fence blew over in a windstorm (gotta love living in the Great Plains). Some foliage has taken advantage of the extra space, and I’m trying to get that taken care of so the fence can be repaired and come back up. The plot twist?

This is not my fence. My yard isn’t nearly this nice 😆
