We’ve entered a new year full of promise, hope, and intention. That third one is probably the most important for me.
I can’t control what happens in the world. I can’t even always control what happens near me. But I can control how I react and I can set myself up for a wonderful year through my intentions.
I intend to have an amazing year!
We’ve reached December! There’s only one more month in 2021, and I plan to make the most of it.
I have a book to finish if I want to meet my self-imposed deadline (I’m really big on giving myself self-imposed deadlines), there are a couple of Winter Holidays left to celebrate, and the new season to welcome when it arrives as well.
The year is truly winding down now and the weather is definitely changing. Leaves are turning, the wind has a sharp chill, and we’re starting the work of settling in for winter.
I love this time of year. We get out our cold weather gear—hats and scarves I’ve knitted for the family. Warm beverages are a must, and there’s a definite increase in the amount of snuggles.
I know that eventually my family will be grown and these moments will be memories. That makes me cherish them even more.
As we head into the winter holiday season, I hope to craft more conscious memories for all of us to look back on fondly. It seems like a good time to start new traditions and work toward setting up our relationships to last through the coming changes as we all grow.
There’s still time to build something as the year comes to a close. I intend to make the most of it and enter 2022 renewed and ready to welcome in even more to be grateful for.
Happy Halloween! We’ve been going through an amazing amount of WTH? things around the Chandler home this month. (Seriously, WTH?!?!). It’s made it hard to focus on the season. For today, at least, we’re going to push away all thoughts of “what if?” and “why did that happen and how do we make it never happen again?” and focus on celebrating with the family.
There will be trick-or-treating with friends (and with the adorable neighborhood kids who come by), pumpkin carving, and lots of cuddles on the couch (please, let there be lots of restful cuddles on the couch 😆 ). Hopefully, I can convince everyone to keep watching Halloween Baking Championship. It’s my new favorite seasonal show.

Happy Autumn Equinox!
It’s the first day of my favorite season, Fall! The nights will start getting longer, the days hopefully will be cooler, and the leaves will soon begin revealing their true vibrant shades (do you remember those science lessons about the green color of chlorophyll masking a tree’s true colors? 💖🍁).
Today, we get to enjoy a day of perfect balance, though. The night and the day are exactly the same length.
