Brendan Sloan, the dashing hero, is a fellow ginger—and a fellow nerd. I had so much fun spending time with him, being in his head. He’s in the midst of an existential crisis—trying to figure out his place in the world and how he can contribute to making it a better place for everyone.
Kira is sweet, sensitive, vulnerable, and a bad-ass space-soldier who will do whatever it takes to protect her loved ones. She’s also out of place, trying to figure out where she fits in.
It was so wonderful writing these characters, telling their story and showing how they were brought together—and giving you a glimpse of where they’re going!
