I’m a day late for posting about the new moon that happened yesterday, but there’s still plenty of forward-moving energy to harness. We’re heading into the Corn Moon, which will be the full moon of August. This is one of the most important times of the year for me.

There’s a Native American saying that tells us to let go of things that don’t grow corn for us. When the Corn Moon is upon us, I use that energy to look at what is helping me in my life and what I need to let go of. This year, it’s especially important, as I’m letting go of a lot of things and moving into new eras in many aspects of my life.
I just celebrated my 10th anniversary of when I was published, and now I’m looking forward to determine what I want the next decade of writing to be like.
My role as a mother is changing as my offspring grows older.
I’m finally giving time and energy to clearing our home environment and making it healthier.
This last piece is key to the Corn Moon energy I want to manifest. Instead of looking around my house and thinking, “What can I get rid of?” I sat down and thought about what is really serving me and my family. Keeping this in mind, I’m mindfully going through each space in our home and letting that thought of “what is growing corn for us?” guide my choices. It’s so much easier to let go of things when I have a strong hold on that which is truly serving us.
As we head into the full moon of August, I’m going to continue to keep this in mind in all that I do, clarifying the things that serve my life’s purpose, and letting go of the distractions that have been clouding it.
