Today is the new moon leading into the Storm Moon.
Storms have the potential to place obstacles in our path, like the snow and ice that hit us in Winter. They can be outright destructive. They can also be cleansing and invigorating.
The first hard rains of Spring will wash the salt away from the roads and clear the detritus that Winter left behind. And the torrential downpours in Summer, accompanied by thunder and lightning, will certainly have us on the edge of our seat in my little section of our beautiful planet.
Going into this Storm Moon, my goal is on preparation. I have exciting things in the works, as you’ve seen with Thursday’s announcement! And there’s even more going on behind the scenes—new directions and new series and new worlds to explore.
I’ve been starting new habits while doing all this creative work, and I certainly don’t want them to be blown away by a wayward storm. So, I’m anchoring the behaviors I truly want to keep, and leaving the rest to be blown away in the storm of activity that I’m initiating myself.
Taking better care of myself. Moving more. Eating less—and better things when I do. Nurturing the relationships that fill my heart with love and joy. And of course always, always, always writing.
I hope you can give some thought as to what aspects of your life you would anchor in a storm. What is too dear to you—too good for you—to ever let go?
